The Private Pilots Licence is the foundation for all your future flying, whether you intend to fly for purely recreational purposes, intend on purchasing your own aircraft or developing your career into becoming a Commercial Pilot. It is the basic qualification that all helicopter pilots achieve first and it opens up the world of helicopter flying to you.
The course is tailored to your time & financial commitments, but we would suggest a lesson at least every two weeks. The minimum requirement is that you reach 45 flight hours, of which 10 hours must be flown by the candidate as solo. Your instructor will monitor your progress through the structured course and ensure that you are competent in all aspects of handling and navigation before sitting your Flight Skills Test.
The Skill Test consists of flying the manoeuvres and demonstrating the techniques that you have learnt throughout the PPL course to your nominated examiner.
During the course you will need to self study the following subjects and sit a multiple choice examination, which is completed in house. To accelerate you through the theoretical stage you can also take advantage of The Flight Centre's structured Ground School course.
